My Favorite Scriptures

This post I will share with you the scriptures I know and memorized from the Bible. Here They are:

Genesis 1:1

   In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

Psalms 91:1 & 2

   He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most high shall abide under the shadow of the almighty.

   I will say of the Lord. He is my refuge, my fortress, my God in him will I trust.

Isaiah 53:5

   He was wounded for or transgression, bruised for our iniquities. The chastisement of our peace was upon him, and by his stripes we are healed.

John 1:1

   In the beginning was the word, and the word was with God, and the word was God.

John 3:16

   For God so loved the world that he gave his only son, that whosoever believe in him, should not parish but have everlasting life.

Romans 8:28

   For we know that all things work together for those who love God, and are called according to his purpose.

Philippians 4:8

   Whatsoever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there be any virtue, if there be any praise, think on these things.

   These are some of my scriptures I like to read. There are a couple of others but I will put those in another post. Thanks for reading.

A New Year

   What does the new year hold? 2011 was a bad year for a lot of people in the US. We lost jobs, homes, relatives. Celebrities passed on. People got away with things they did but all that is soon to be history because a new year will start in a few hours from now.

   What do you expect to receive in the next year to come. In 2012 do you expect a baby? Are you getting married? Or buying a new home?  Do you expect a change in your job or money situation? In this next year we all have hopes that the economy will pick up and things will get better in the US.

   Think about your life for a minute. Did you make a new years resolution? Was it to be healthier? Was it to exercise and get into shape? Did you make it to quit smoking or drinking? Whatever it was that you expect in the year 2012 make it a point to get there.

   To strive to be better and do better for yourself and your family. 2011 is about to be a thing of the past and 2012 is the future we need to look at.

   People need to think of how they can make this next year better for all. I want to make it better for me and the people I love.

   Let the pain, disappointment and anger of 2011 go and strive to make 2012 a better year for all.
